One Response to “sad sad day.”

  1. Suicide

    Rest not shall we
lest we talk of the dead
    those whose breath took
    their own hands away

for we mourn their shadow, and our own
    fearing that unseen force
which causes beauty to draw the sword
of the Infinite, an slice off
    the mind of the finite

    we cannot comprehend our own
    birth or death, or anything
    in between
    though we think we may
    we know not truly
what to do with these hands
or this heart, or these words
when the universal struggle of this
brings forth a seemingly permanent unjust air

we love, we attach, and then feel pain
we breath our first breath into
our family, and through our family
    all breathing as one direction
unified by the forced movement forward

in dismay, we can only look backwards
    unrestful our sleeping, our waking
though we pretend to be well

for we know not if our hands, or words
    or lack of feet
    entered in to carry out
that self-same deed that just is
what becomes naught, before our eyes
have a chance to look again
nor a time to speak aloud
    the voice of love

    indeed there is a Will
that testifies into our own will
    just how beauty and circumstance
oft collide into all that is

    incomprehensible in it’s becoming
    of dreams undone, and ears
    that hear not still
the cry of one of our own parts
to simply be seen, and told
    they are good enough

    before Justice obeys the command
    of a single will
to self-destruct a portion of our own breath
