i am still sore from dancing my ass off this last weekend for indio, california’s annual “coachella” music and arts festival. this would be my second year and by far my most favorite. i felt like it was history in the making for me. what other weekend would i have been able to see the likes of “portishead”, “prince”, and “roger waters” all on the same line-up. it was pretty epic to say the least. not only was the music incredible, but what my fellow artists came up with this year around was pretty mind blowing. the do lab of course did it again, without any hesitation to “go big”. this year’s plan was to have 45 misting shade structures compared to last year’s 9. not only did they achieve to cool down the concert goer’s near death heat strokes, but was able to succeed in giving a blow out dance party all day long with new circus dance acts provided by the magnificent “lucent dossier“. the stage had 3 pods of vignettes decorated by the ever incredible shrine, a water stage and an underwater performance pool. i was impressed. this was and is just a taste of what’s to come in the following weeks for “lightning in a bottle“. i’m super stoked to be able to go out early and really get my hands dirtied up for this one!!! it will surely be a memorial day weekend to remember. and not to mention that adam freeland has just been added to the line-up. whoop whoop.
