Skin.Graft Designs kills it at SS10 Fashion Week in Los Angeles

•October 15, 2009 • Leave a Comment

my lovely friends and designers Jonny Cota and Katie Kay have been working their nimble little fingers off to present to Los Angeles and fashion week their SS10 line.  needless to say, their work is absolutely stunning.  i love the direction Skin.Graft has been going within the last year.  leather looks classy and i’m into it.  something i can definitely say that i would probably put together with lots of different outfits and MORE than just one special occasion.  tonight, they will be participating in the Fashion Walk downtown at their studio / store off of 4th and Spring.  6pm to 10pm….stop by say “hello” and pick up some new freshies from their collection.

Random Rab
and Brion Charles.

There will also be a special Phadroid Performance to complete the evening.

This event is free and open to all ages.
The doors will open at 7:00 pm – 11:00 pm.

The exhibit will be on display from November 7th through November 30th. 2009

Delfina Delettrez Fendi, a fourth-generation member of the Fendi family, has created this fascinating piece of jewelry that covers your entire hand. The jewel-encrusted hand jewelry contains a ring and a bracelet in addition to an extra part that resembles the bones in your hand. Delfina’s hand jewelry carries a $24,000 price tag and is reportedly sold at Colette in France. The Frisky compares the concept to Beyonce’s Sasha Fierce bionic hand. It resembles Beyonce’s bionic hand more in this photo with a model wearing.

Los Angeles Art Walk this Thursday Aug. 13th with KUCOON and SKIN.GRAFT

•August 12, 2009 • Leave a Comment

“The Downtown Los Angeles Art Walk is a free event held every second Thursday afternoon and evening in and around the Historic Core’s Gallery Row neighborhood. For this one night each month, Downtown LA returns to its historic pedestrian-based culture, a vibrant scene that is itself a draw for locals and tourists seeking an authentic urban experience. Launched in 2004 by the then-marginal community’s pioneer gallerists, Art Walk has become a grassroots urban success story, with upwards of 10,000 people coming out each month to see the newest art exhibits, enjoy the bustling street culture, eat, drink and socialize.”

This Thursday the 13th of August, SKIN.GRAFT presents KUCOON trunk show.

this was a shoot that the late Tiffa Novoa and i worked on when we first moved to Los Angeles.  we were so inspired.  everything looked and felt so fresh.  it was part of a project from this dream she had about old growths in Oregon being cut down and a song she wanted to create.  i brought in the talented chrysta bell to write the song and rena jones composed it.  it is so beautiful.  there was supposed to be a music video too, as we shot ALL day…one of these days, i’m sure it will get done.  it’s gorgeous.  but here is one of the many photoshoots she and i did.  i loved working with her.  i miss her and her inspiration she brought into my world.  i found the old discs and brought them to life again.  i colored them differently then how i had them in the past.  i am still not the worlds best retoucher, but i think these look beautiful.
